Firstly, The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) considers only UTME candidates who made UNIUYO their first choice of Institution during the JAMB registration or those who changed their previous first choice of Institution to the University of Uyo.
There is not always any consideration for candidates who chose UNIUYO as their second choice.
Secondly, regardless of the JAMB general cut-off Mark, the University of Uyo always bring out their own cut-off Mark for the whole school and every department. This is usually the threshold that you must attain before you would be considered for admission to the University of Uyo.
For the 2023/2024 academic session, the general school cut-off Mark is 150/400. That is, if you had scored from 150 and above in the just concluded UTME, you are qualified to register for the UNIUYO Post-UTME Screening exercise and you would be considered for admission based on the departmental requirements and cut-off Marks.
Also, it is not official to pay money to anyone for you to be offered admission to the University of Uyo.
The management of the institution has enjoined all the candidates to desist from such acts to avoid being duped by fraudsters who claim that they are admission officials or that they work with all the high ranking officials in UNIUYO.
Therefore, payment of a concessional fee for admission to the University of Uyo is at the payers’ dispensation and would have themselves to blame for any problem that comes up along the line.
More so, the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) does not consider candidates awaiting results for admission.
Every prospective undergraduate student must ensure that their O’level result(s) have/has been uploaded successfully both on the JAMB portal and the University of Uyo admission portal before/during the registration of the Post-UTME Screening exercise.

How To Check UNIUYO Admission Lists For 2023/2024 Academic Session
There are so many prospective undergraduate students of UNIUYO who have wondered how they can have access to admission as soon as it is released.
In this section of the article, I present to you the procedures for checking the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) admission list online. The UNIUYO admission status is usually accessed via two platforms namely; The JAMB portal (just like most of the other institutions) and the school portals.
To check your UNIUYO admission status via the JAMB portal, ensure that you follow these procedures below:
- Go to the official JAMB website at: www.jamb.gov.ng
- Click on JAMB SERVICE WEBSITE(e-facilities)
- Login with your email address and password ( the one you used during JAMB registration)
- Click on Admission Status
- Go to Access My CAP on your dashboard
- Scroll through the left side of your screen (either PC or mobile phone), you will see check My Admission Status, just click on it
- It will show whether you have been offered admission or not. These are what you will see: CONGRATULATIONS (if you have been offered admission) or NOT ADMITTED (if you have not been given admission)
Note that you are to ACCEPT or REJECT the given admission if you wish. The options for both commands are there on your dashboard.
How to UNIUYO Admission List on the School Portal
To your UNIUYO admission status on the school portal, use this procedure;
- Go to the University of Uyo portal at: https://uniuyo.edu.ng/eportals/
- Click on Admission
- Go to check admission status
- Login with your Username (usually your JAMB registration number)
- Click proceed to check your admission status
- If you have been offered admission, it will show with the faculty and department which you have been admitted into.

What does the UNIUYO Merit Admission list mean?
UNIUYO merit admission list is also known as 1st batch admission list. This list will consist of the names of the candidates with higher scores in the Post UTME and JAMB.
Why is my name not on the UNIUYO Admission list 2023/2024?
If you can’t see an admission offer on your JAMB CAPS, don’t panic yet. Some factors can cause it, but relax I’m going to highlight a few below.
- Admission is not yet commenced
- You have an offer to accept a new course of study. If you don’t accept the offer you will not be given admission
- You chose the wrong subject combination in JAMB.
- Your OLevel result does not qualify for admission
- Your course of choice is too competitive. This means that a lot of candidates have been offered admission into your selected course and the quota is already full.
- JAMB CAPS functions randomly, it takes a while for some candidates to see an admission offer.
- You are totally not eligible for admission.
- Low JAMB Score.
- You are not in the catchment area.
After UNIUYO Admission What Next?
Now, after you have found your name in the UNIUYO admission list 2023/2024 or on JAMB CAPS. The next steps you have to take are listed below;
- Payment of acceptance fees
- Print your admission letter
- Payment of accommodation/hostel fee
- Start preparing for resumption for the 2023/2024 academic session as a fresher

What Next?
- If any of the portals is showing “Admission in Progress”, it means that you will soon be admitted. The management is working on your admission.
- For those who have been offered admission and have accepted it at the JAMB portal, you are expected to pay a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of Twenty-five thousand Naira (NGN25,000) only to the school via the school portal.
Does UNIUYO Write Post-UTME?
No, the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) does not write any examination for the Post-UTME Screening exercise. You are going to be screened based on the credibility of your documents.
Most importantly, your O’level results shall be verified online by the admission unit on the process. It is very pertinent that you submit all the required documents in an appropriate form to avoid being disqualified for admission.
