Job Description: 

  • Conduct pre-payment audit in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Commission policies and procedures.

  • Report to the Head, Public Affairs Department  
  • Maintain and update a register of contact addresses of industry stakeholders

Job Description: 

  • Report to the GM/Head of Division Chairman’s office. 
  • Arrange and manage media activities of the Commission and facilitate adequate media reportage.

  • Assists with the process for the review of tariff filings and applications. 
  • Assists with the development and the review of existing tariff models. 
  • Undertake review of methodologies, polices, procedures and guidelines for regulating electricity tariff. 
  • Analyse the impact of various government tariff  policy directives on the financial sustainability of the market and proper advice to the Commission. 
  • Undertake studies to establish appropriate level of lifeline tariffs and make recommendations for the implementation of PCAF.

Job Description: 

  • Receive, document and coordinate plans and propositions for actions and tasks to be undertaken by Divisions and Units of the Commission 
  • Harmonize, synthesize and follow-up on the implementation of Action Plans and Strategic Plan of the Commission

2. Principal Manager – Renewable Energy

Field of Study: Biosystem Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or any other related field 

Minimum Qualification/Skills: B.Sc., Post Graduate degree, and professional certification relevant to the vacancy is required.

Job Description: 

  • Conduct studies on new and renewable sources of power generation 
  • Participate in the evaluation of min-grid permits, and related regulations 
  • Participate in evaluation of renewable energy policies and related regulations 
  • Participate in evaluation of applications for licences of renewable energy-based power generation  
  • Participate in designing renewable power related regulations 
  • Conduct studies on economics of renewable based power as input to tariff settings for renewable energy  
  • Handle the regulatory requirement of the National Energy Policy and Renewable Energy masterplan 
  • Design, draft PPA, Connection agreement and system standards for renewable energy based off-grid power supply to remote areas.

3. Principal Manager – Research (Data Aggregation Platform)

Field of Study: Computer Science, Data Base Management, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical/Electronics/ Computer Engineering.

Minimum Qualification/Skills: B.Sc., Post Graduate degree, and professional certification relevant to the vacancy is required.  

Articulate and fluent in communication, disposition to working collaboratively in teams and knowledge sharing, systemwide strategic thinking.  

High level competence with Excel, Statistical analysis (demand forecasting, predictive analytical methods), Front end development in Angular, React, Vue or Bootstrap for report development and generation, MS Power BI, E-View for data visualization, SQL scripting and database management, MS Power Point for report presentation, Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Macros programming will be added advantage

Job Description: 

  • Manage the NERC Data Aggregation Platform (DAP) of the Commission. 
  • Provide innovative analytical insights on industry data displayed on the DAP. 
  • Conduct detailed data analysis on data in the NESI to establish and evaluate trends in industry operations. 
  • Respond to data related inquiries in real-time to support requirements of Divisions and Units of the Commission.

4. Assistant Manager – Corporate Planning and Strategy (CPS)

Field of Study: B.Sc in Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science and/or related field of study. 

Qualification/skills: First Degree (2:1) or Masters in Data Analytics, Project Management, Organisational Development or related area. 

Membership of a relevant professional body will be an advantage.  

  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail and time-management skills  
  • Excellent verbal, analytical and written communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision  

Good knowledge of all types of electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, as well as in their technical management and planning.

Minimum years of experience: 6 years work experience, three (3) of which should have been as a core member of a Project Management team or related.

  • Follow-up on timelines and track the implementation of various components of the Strategic Plan of the Commission. 
  • Produce progress and status reports on activities and operations related to implementation of the Strategic Plan. 
  • Review and analyse the status of technical viability of the Licensees’ investments in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry. 
  • Conduct verification, validation, and back testing of reliability indices of utilities.

Field of Study: Data Science, Economics, Statistics, any Social Sciences, Engineering, Energy economics.  

Minimum Qualification/Skills:  First Degree (2:1) or Masters in Data Analytics, Project Management or related area. 

Minimum years of experience: 6 years working experience, three (3) of which should have been in producing research reports for internal or external audiences, or as a core member of a project team. 

Job Description: 

  • Perform trend analysis, regulatory research, and energy policy issues  
  • Initiating and develop strategies on regulatory research and analysis of extant policies & regulations in the power sector while providing recommendations to the Commission.  
  • Preparation of position papers and reports on regulatory issues  
  • Analyse data and provide visualization using statistical software. Identify trends and make recommendations for inputs into reports of the Commission. Create presentations with charts and graphs to present to higher-ups and management. 
  • Participating in designing, collecting, analysing, and maintaining data & statistics on key energy parameters. 
  • Performing economic, technical analysis and research related to power sector issues – tariffs, markets, fuel availability, open access, etc. 
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reports on short-term transactions of electricity as part of market monitoring. 
  • Conduct research on economic and technical impacts of regulatory decisions on utilities and consumers, Scenario modelling of tariff design; quantifying economic impacts and costs of mitigating impacts 
  • Apply mathematical models to come up with objective analysis based on industry historical data.

  • Regulatory Research analyst will provide the required support for the PM and AGM while being mentored by both to ensure effective teamwork and service delivery.  
  • The analyst will be responsible for designing survey templates, data collection data processing, data analysis and drafting reports 
  • Acquisition of data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining the database  
  • Assist in developing and implementing data analysis, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality 
  • Assist in developing queries for interrogating database system, provide information to internal & external stakeholders
