About Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK)
The Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) was established on 18th February, 2013 alongside those of Gusau and Gashua by the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, in line with policy of the Government for establishing a Federal University in states that did not have one across the federation.
Academic activities in the university began in November 2014, for the 2014/2015 academic session with a students’ population of 507 and academic staff strength of 102. Accordingly, maiden and second matriculation took place on 5 March 2015, and 9 February 2016, with a total of 507 and 972 Undergraduate sworn-in, respectively.
The Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) currently has three faculties and a College of Health Sciences and offers a total of twenty-four (24) degree programmes. The University has six (6) directorates which include, Academic Planning, Physical Planning, Research and Innovation, ICT Directorate, Entrepreneurship and CSBE Directorate.

FUBK General Admission Requirements
Before anyone can be accepted to study in the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK), there are minimum qualification that such individual must attain. Those qualifications are the FUBK General Admission Requirements. They include the following:
- Candidates must possess at least five (5) Credits in their O’level result. This must include English Language and Mathematics. However, two sitting result is not allowed.
- Candidates must have also reached the age of 16.
- Candidates are expected to get JAMB Directly entry form from JAMB to apply.
- Candidates should have any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICA

FUBK Courses Duration
The duration of undergraduate courses that are offered in the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) vary between 4 to 6 years depending on courses. It should be noted that no course in the university runs below four years and if all things being equal, none will exceed six years from the year of admission.
