General Information On Admission Requirements
For any candidate to be considered for undergraduate admission in the University of Maidugri (UNIMAID), he/she must satisfy the minimum University Entrance Requirement (and where applicable, the additional faculty requirements as provided in the regulations governing admission)
The following are the minimum admission for all the courses in the institution:
- Follow an approved course of study for a prescribed period;
- Pass the required examinations set out in thee detailed degree regulations of the various Faculties;
- Pay all prescribed fees.
- Comply with such other regulations and requirement as may be prescribed as follow;
- At least five (5) credits Passes in School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (SSCE)/NECO or its equivalent in not more than two sittings.
Direct Entry Requirements
candidates who wish to be admitted into the University of Maidugri (UNIMAID) are expected to possess any of the following requirements:
- “A” Level passes with SSCE/GCE Ordinary Level Credit
passes in the required subjects at not more than two sittings. - At least a Bachelor Degree/HND/ND/NCE/Diploma Certificate in any relevant field of study.

Academic Session
The University of Maiduguri operates a two-semester sessions for its regular courses and a long vacation period for vacant (or Extra mural) courses if any.
A semester is expected to last for about 17 to 18 weeks (Including registration, teaching and examination periods), provided that not less than 15 weeks each are actually devoted to teaching.
Duration Of Degree Programme
The minimum number of years to be spent to be awarded a first degree in a
programme of study in non-professional areas shall be four years, and shall not exceed an additional 50% of the duration of the programme if a student fails to graduate within the minimum number of years.
In some professional areas, the requirement is longer. Five years are the minimum in Agriculture, Engineering and Law, and six years in Human and Veterinary Medicine.
