Erasmus Mundus Journalism Master’s Programmes

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Journalism, Media and Globalisation is a cultural immersion and learning experience like no other. Mundus Journalism is a 2-year master’s degree that offers a unique educational experience within a truly global cohort of students. Students learn to combine academic, theoretical knowledge with journalistic skills, and to analyse, interpret and generate knowledge about the global changes that increasingly challenge traditional boundaries between media, politics, technology and culture.

Students will be awarded a joint Erasmus Mundus Masters of Arts degree in Journalism Media and Globalisation. All students will be studying and living in at least two European countries. All students spend their first year jointly between Aarhus University and the Danish School of Media and Journalism.

By focusing specifically on the societal, market and technological aspects of journalism, the programme addresses not only news output, but the sustainability and working practices of those who provide it. In disseminating these contemporary perspectives, the curriculum is refined based on wide stakeholder feedback to ensure that Mundus Journalism graduates are well equipped – perhaps the best equipped – to perpetuate the highest standards of global journalism.

The strong team of degree-awarding and credit awarding partners, with affiliated media partners providing internships, offers a comprehensive menu of choice to ensure that our programme remains a premium brand for all involved. In a world where journalism is often accused of being ‘fake’ and producing content that does not meet its traditionally noble aims.

We believe that Mundus Journalism embraces the notion that such perceived deficiencies can be addressed by the encouragement and nurturing of a bright young talent pool that understand the cultural and operational benefits of globalisation, and that leave our programme with new knowledge, perspectives and networks that will contribute to re-establishing the profession as a crucial force for good.
