Following the suspension of the 8 months Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) strike, a lot of students have worried about how the previously scheduled academic programmes are going to be run since they have seen a new academic calendar.
Some the students have been asking questions to know if the university has published a new academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session. To clarify issues peddling around these questions, I have decided to publish this article for the benefit of the general public, especially the students.
This is notify all the students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU/UNIZIK) the Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the School Senate, has approved the Revised Academic Calendar of Events for the completion of 2023/2024 academic session, for all regular undergraduate students.
The university has published the academic calendar to enable meet up as expected with all the academic activities which was stagnated as a result of the suspended ASUU strike.

Academic Calendar is the schedule of academic works/programmes that is usually drafted by the management of every university for easy running the administrative roles and good corporation of the students.

According to the schedule on the calendar, all academic activities are meant to start as from Monday, 17th October, 2023 and close on the Friday, 7th April, 2024.

When Will UNIZIK Resume First Semester?
The management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU/UNIZIK) has stated that undergraduate students should resume for their programmes on the Monday, 9th September, 2023.
This is date that the university has scheduled for the commencement of the 2023/2024 First Semester academic activities. Students who do not resume on this stated date would have him/herself to blame as they will be no reversal of any past works for late comers.
When Will UNIZIK Resume Second Semester?
Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU/UNIZIK) are expected to resume for their 2023/2024 Second semester academic session activities on Wednesday, 4th January, 2024.
This resumption is going to be immediately after the First Semester/Christmas Break which shall begin on the Friday, 23rd December, 2023 and would last till Tuesday, 3rd January, 2024.
