These lists contain the names of those who have been offered provisional admission into all the undergraduate programmes in UNN. The lists include the merit admission list, also known as the primary admission list, and the also the supplementary admission lists.

How Many Admission List Does UNN Release Each Session?

University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) releases admission twice per session. The UNN admission list are;

How to Check the UNN Admission Lists on the JAMB Portal
You can also check your University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) admission status on the JAMB Portal. To use the JAMB portal to access your UNN admission status, kindly follow the steps below carefully
- Visit jamb the JAMB portal at: http://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility/
- Sign in to your profile with your email and password
- Scroll down the home page and click on Check Admission Status.
- Go to Access My CAPS
- Select your Exam year and enter your JAMB registration number appropriately.
- Click on Admission Status
- Proceed to access your admission status
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
Before checking the admission lists, it is important that I let you know about the criteria that the management of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) used in giving admission for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The following are the admission requirements for prospective undergraduate students.
General Requirements
- Age Limit: No person under the age of sixteen (16) years may be admitted to the University as a student.
- Admission Requirements: University of Nigeria, Nsukka requires all candidates applying for admission into any of its courses to possess five credit level passes which must include a credit pass in English Language and a Science subject in not more than two sittings.
- Entry requirement for Direct Entry must include UTME requirement for that particular course.
- Candidates must have at least, 5 (five) Credit grade in five subjects (English and Mathematics inclusive) in their O’level result(s). In the case, O’level result could be WAEC/NECO/GCE or any other equivalent result.
UNN Admission Requirements for UTME Candidates
To get admission into University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) undergraduate programmes through UTME, you must possess the following requirements.
- Applicants must ensure that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is their first choice of institution during JAMB registration. This is because UNN does not consider second choice options for admission.
- Candidates must score at least 160 in JAMB examination before they can apply for the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Post-UTME.
- Candidates must participate in UNN post UTME examination and must perform very well in the examination in order to be admitted.
Note: UNN accepts two sitting results for admission. Thus, if you wish to combine two results for admission, you can actually do that.
UNN Direct Entry admission requirements
Below are the requirements for direct entry admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN):
- For Direct Entry admission, candidates must possess two passes at the IJMB Advanced Level Examination, Cambridge moderated Schools of Basic Studies Terminal Examination, JUPEB or Institute of Baccalaureate from recognised institutions with SSCE/GCE, NTS/NBC credits equivalent in three other subjects.
- The Direct entry candidate must purchase the Direct Entry (DE) Form through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- The candidate must also make the University of Nigeria, Nsukka his/her first choice of institution during the DE registration. This is a very important requirement because UNN does not consider second choice candidates for admission.
Instructions To Candidates Offered Provisional Admission For The 2023/2024 Academic Session
Candidates who have been offered provisional admission are expected to follow guidelines below to regularize their acceptance of the offer:
1) All candidates are STRICTLY advised to URGENTLY upload their O/Level results into JAMB Portal within one week using a JAMB approved CBT Center, and forward evidence of upload and Admission Status in JAMB CAPS to the Admissions Office. Note that candidates’ admission cannot be processed until proper upload of O/Level results are done.
2) Visit the JAMB Portal and accept your admission on CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission”. Candidates who fail to accept their admission on JAMB CAPS would not be issued JAMB Admission Letter and would be deemed as not admitted.
3) Visit the University of Nigeria website (www.unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in your JAMB Registration number to generate and download a Payment Invoice which contains a Remitta number, the invoice will enable you to make payment at the UNN Microfinance Bank Or any Commercial Bank.
4) With the Payment Invoice, candidates requested to pay Twenty Five Thousand Naira Only (N30, 000.00) acceptance fee. Ensure that the Invoice number is keyed in appropriately at the Bank and obtain a confirmation slip containing your Confirmation number and Invoice number.
5) Visit the University of Nigeria website (www.unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng) again and login your JAMB Registration Number, the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission slip and complete the Acceptance Form online.
6) Proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the University of Nigeria website.
7) Candidates should note that this admission is provisional.
8) If at any time in future, including final year, it is discovered that any candidate does not possess the minimum university and the faculty/departmental entry requirements for the course as prescribed by the Senate of the University, and published in JAMB Brochure, the offer of admission will be withdrawn.
