About University of Calabria
The University of Calabria (Italian: Università della Calabria, UNICAL) is a state-run university in Italy. Located in Arcavacata, a hamlet of Rende and a suburb of Cosenza, the university was founded in 1972.
Among its founders there were Beniamino Andreatta, Giorgio Gagliani, Pietro Bucci and Paolo Sylos Labini. It currently has about 35,000 students, 800 teaching and research staff and about 700 administrative staff.

The institution is made up of 14 Departments, which offer 80 Degree Programmes provided at Bachelor and Master’s Level, as well as 10 PhD Programmes.
UNICAL’s mission is to advance knowledge and contribute to society through the pursuit of education, learning, and research at the international levels of excellence.

Presently, it has established 251 international cooperation agreements with institutions of 54 countries along with about 500 agreements in the Erasmus+ framework.

About the University of Calabria (UNICAL) Scholarship
This is to specially notify you that the University of Calabria (Italian: Università della Calabria, UNICAL) has announced a public selection process for early admission of Extra-EU students to 1st Cycle Degree Courses (Three years Bachelor Degrees), 2nd Cycle One-Tier Degree Courses (Five years Master’s Degrees) and 2nd Cycle Degree Courses (Two Years’Master’s Degrees) for A.Y. 2023/2024.
For the academic year 2023-2024, University of Calabria will award 150 scholarships to foreign students enrolled to the 10 International Master Degrees, taught in English and 90 scholarships to the 30 Master Degree, taught in Italian. The scholarship includes tuitions fees, winners also benefited from free services, such as board and lodging, and a € 2500/3000 allowance.
Scholarships for Three-Year and Single Cycle degrees
International students will have access to the call for applications for the right to study, which will be published on the Unical portal at the end of June 2023. Every year, Unical grants more than 6,000 scholarships, consisting of an amount in money, accommodation and university canteen services, and tax exemption.
The international student has – on equal treatment with Italian students – access to the services and benefits for the right to study. International students, with families and incomes produced abroad, must apply to the CAF qualified for the issue of the ISEE Parificato certificate.
