Faculties in Trinity University

Currently there are two major faculties in Trinity University under which many other departments and courses are found in. those faculties are given below:

Faculty of Arts, Management & Social Sciences

The Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Science is made up of the following departments: Department of Accounting, Department of Business Administration, Department of English and Literary Studies, Department of Economics, Department of Mass Communication, Department of Political Science which also runs the International Relations.

Faculty of Basic Medical & Applied Sciences

I welcome you to the Faculty of Basic Medical and Applied Sciences. The faculty houses six Departments and nine programs; Biological Sciences (Microbiology, Biology and Biotechnology), Chemical Sciences (Industrial Chemistry), Computer and Information Sciences (Computer Science and Information Technology), Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Sciences and Physics with Electronics.

The programs lead to award of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) except for Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science that award B.NSc and B.MLS degrees

Trinity University Entry Requirements

B. Sc Computer Science

UTME
The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics to form the core subjects with credit in any other two relevant science subjects, at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University.

DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

B. Sc Information Technology

UTME

The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics to form the core subjects with credit in any other two relevant science subjects, at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University.

DIRECT ENTRY

Candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

Department of Biological Science

The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with credit in three other relevant science courses Biology, Chemistry, Technical drawing Agricultural Science and Geography at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent and atleast a pass in Physics.

In addition, an acceptable pass in the University Matriculation Examination (UTME) into 100-level is required. For the B.Sc. Programme in Biology, candidates must have credit level passes in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Expected duration for UTME candidates shall be 4 years. Expected duration for Direct Entry (DE) candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

B. Sc Biotechnology

UTME
The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core course with credit in three other relevant science courses Biology, Chemistry, Technical drawing, Agricultural Science and Geography at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent and at least a pass in Physics.

In addition, an acceptable pass in the University Matriculation Examination (UTME) into 100-level is required. For the B.Sc. Programme in Biotechnology, candidates must have credit level passes in Biology, Chemistry and Physics

DIRECT ENTRY
Expected duration for Direct Entry (DE) candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

B. Sc Microbiology

UTME
The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, to form the core subjects with credit in three other relevant science courses Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University Matriculation Examination (UTME) into 100-level is required.

Direct Entry

Candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

B. Sc Accounting

UTME
Candidates must have obtained 5 credits at not more than two sittings in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Commerce or Business Methods and other relevant social science and/or commercial subjects at WASSCE, NECO, NABTEC, GCE Ordinary Level, and other recognised O’Level examinations of recognised bodies. At least credit in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory.

DIRECT ENTRY
For Direct Entry into the 200L, in addition to the O’Level requirements above, candidates must possess passes in 3 WAEC/GCE/Cambridge Advanced Level(A’Level) Certificate with a Minimum of C, which must include Accounting, Mathematics and Economics.

In addition ATS 3/ATSWA 3/Fundamental Level of Professional Examination/ACCA passes in F1,F2,F3,F4/OND-Minimum of Upper Credit/HND-Minimum of Lower Credit. Diploma in any management courses such as business administration, accounting, marketing, purchasing and supply, insurance, secretarial administration, office management, banking and finance. JUPEB, Three A’Level GCE pass.

International Relation

UTME
The entry requirements shall be at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics to form the core subjects with credit in any other two relevant science subjects, at the Senior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. In addition, an acceptable pass in the University.

DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates with two A level passes (graded A-E) at the Advanced Level in one or more relevant subjects (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) may undertake the three – year degree programme into 200-level.

Mass Communication

PROGRAMME DURATION
It has duration of four years for students admitted with the Ordinary Level Certificate, and three years for those with direct entry.

Admission requirements: Admission into the programme will be either through UTME or Direct Entry.

The acceptable UTME Subjects are: 

A minimum of five (5) credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or in the General Certificate Examination G.C.E. ‘O’ Level, or NECO, – National Examination Certificate or their equivalents.

The five (5) credit must include English Language, Mathematics and Literature in English and any other relevant two subjects, which must be obtained at not more than two sittings. An acceptable UTME score is also required.

Direct Entry:

Direct entry candidates must obtain Diploma in Mass Communication of any approved tertiary institution. Candidates with passes in relevant/required subject combinations in JUPEB ‘A Level’ are also considered for direct entry admission. The subjects must include English Language and other two relevant subjects.

Economics

UTME
Candidates must have obtained 5 credits at not more than 2 sittings in 5 subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two subjects in Commerce, Government, Financial Accounting or Geography at SSCE or GCE Ordinary Level and or any other acceptable O’Level results. In addition, candidates must have acceptable passes in UTME

DIRECT ENTRY
Candidates for Direct Entry must meet the UTME admission requirements in addition to A’level passes in three relevant subjects or recognised diploma certificate from a recognised tertiary institution in Nigeria or abroad.

JUPEB candidates with relevant grades may also be considered. Such candidates are to be admitted into 200 level of the programme. For emphasis, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Economics are Compulsory.

No, the Trinity University does not write Post-UTME at the time of writing this post. If you want to be admitted in the institution, all you have to do go to the University official website and make you application for the admission.

It should be noted that Trinity University does not consider those below the age of 16 for any admission.

Get Good UTME Score

You must get the required UTME score for the particular course that you want to study if you must be considered for admission into Trinity University. At least you should a minimum of the JAMB Cut-Off Mark and that of the school.
